Aaron Lewis

Director of Programming, The 90+ Project

Aaron Lewis joined The 90+ Project in 2024 as its Director of Programming, bringing with him a deep passion for soccer, character development, and community transformation. With over two decades of coaching and leadership experience at the collegiate, professional, and youth levels, Lewis is widely respected for his ability to mentor both players and coaches while fostering growth on and off the field.

A Proven Leader in Soccer

Prior to joining 90+, Lewis served as the head coach of Gonzaga University’s men’s soccer team beginning in 2021. In just three years, he helped guide the Bulldogs through one of the most significant turnarounds in the country. Under his leadership:

  • The team posted the best start in program history in 2024

  • Gonzaga secured a nationally ranked recruiting class in 2022

  • Players achieved record-setting GPAs over three consecutive semesters

  • Student-athletes consistently volunteered in the Spokane community, embodying service and leadership

Lewis also held a successful six-year tenure as head coach at Corban University, leading the program to six straight NAIA Championship appearances, three CCC Tournament titles, and two regular-season conference championships. His influence extended to the professional development arena as head coach of the Portland Timbers U23s, where he mentored several future pros—including Siad Haji, the #2 overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. Lewis’s soccer journey includes a unique milestone: he was the first NAIA player ever drafted into Major League Soccer, selected by the Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) in 1999. Beyond the pitch, he contributed as an administrator with the Portland Timbers during their transition into MLS from 2010 to 2013—gaining valuable experience in both operations and player development.

Vision for the 90+ Project

In his role, Lewis is responsible for designing and overseeing programs that align with the 90+ Project’s mission of building character, leadership, and mental wellness in young athletes. His work focuses on elevating coaching excellence, enriching the player experience, and creating pathways for youth to grow through sport.

“This is such an exciting opportunity for me,” said Lewis. “90+ has created a powerful vision and platform to make a mighty impact on our region through soccer. Development and growth are shared passions for me and 90+…”.
